Our Privacy Pledge
Allegheny Energy and its subsidiaries respect consumer privacy and are committed to helping those who visit our site understand how we manage the personal information under our care. Our goal is to provide a reliable level of privacy, while at the same time offering information and services to those who visit our site.
The data we collect (and how we use it)
Allegheny Energy collects two types of information: general user information to track our site's performance and personal information supplied by those users that are signing up for services.
Allegheny Energy does collect anonymous site traffic information, such as the user's domain name and which pages are visited, so that we can manage our site better. Allegheny Energy also does not use any tracking technology to surreptitiously track our user's activities over the Internet.
If you do provide personal information to Allegheny Energy, you can be assured that the information that you provide will not be sold or shared to any unaffiliated third-party without your knowledge or consent. The only exception to this would be if Allegheny Energy were served with a legally valid subpoena or court order, in which case Allegheny Energy will supply such information as required by law.
The information that we share
Other companies host some of our Web pages on their systems. Allegheny Energy does not share personally identifiable information with any other third party, unless the information is required for the delivery of a service. All such information is protected by this privacy policy. However, you may be contacted by mail, email or phone from time to time by Allegheny Energy or one of its partners in an attempt to provide you with better service offerings or benefits that may be of interest to you.
Special note about children's privacy
The majority of Allegheny Energy's Web site is not intended for children under the age of 13. We have some pages that are designed to provide safety and educational information across a wide range of grade school youth. No personally identifiable information is collected on those pages and Allegheny Energy does not collect personally identifiable information about our younger users. For more information about how parents can protect their children's privacy online, visit www.kidsprivacy.org.
Updates to Allegheny Energy's Privacy Policy
Allegheny Energy is committed to responsible and ethical privacy practices. As our business and services evolve and as new laws and regulations emerge, we will update this privacy policy to inform our customers of their rights and options, as well as our privacy responsibilities.
